Cavaliers Wear Red for Autism Acceptance!
On April 2nd, Hanks Middle School celebrates World Autism Awareness Day. We invite all Cavaliers to wear RED to show our support and appreciation for our neurodivergent students and friends.
At HMS, we believe that every student’s unique perspective makes our campus stronger. Wearing red is a simple way to say that everyone belongs here. Let’s fill the hallways with red to celebrate the strengths and talents of our entire Cavalier family!

At Hanks Middle School, April holds a special significance as we celebrate the Month of the Military Child. Military children are often described as dandelions—resilient plants that can take root and bloom anywhere the wind carries them. At HMS, we see this resilience in action every day. Our military students bring a global perspective, a quiet strength, and an inspiring adaptability to our hallways.
To our military-connected students and families: We see you, we honor you, and we are profoundly grateful for your service. You are a vital part of the Cavalier family, and we are proud to be the place where you bloom this spring.

The Middle School Supply List is ready for your review.
In previous years, our district was able to provide supplies for all students. However, due to budget constraints, middle and high school students will now need to purchase their own materials for the upcoming school year. To support a smooth transition, we have compiled a general supply list to help families prepare. https://yisd.net/o/yisd/page/middle-school-school-supplies

Mr. Lucero is challenging all students to attend school all day, every day. Each week that Hanks Middle School leads the district in attendance, students will earn free dress!
